Today (April 26, 2017) marks the anniversary of the day we were counting my pregnancy weeks from. ...Which means Magnus is turning 1 in 39 weeks and 3 days! Wow!
Since I STILL haven't gotten around to it, I thought I would use the occasion to share some photos from our two amazing maternity photo shoots (thank you, Ted and Anjali!!) and give you guys a little recap of those 9 months.
I have to say I loved being pregnant. Not that it didn't come with its challenges - the nausea at the beginning, terrible back pain and pelvic floor pain towards the end, and of course the never ending trips to the bathroom... but it was also the coolest experience and I am still in awe of what my body did there. Plus, it's so fun to style the bump! I definitely miss it sometimes - like when I see other pregnant ladies - is that a thing?
Once the nausea stopped and the second trimester kicked off, it was pretty much smooth sailing (until a month before Magnus was born when the back pain started...). From feeling baby's first kicks to, at the end, being able to tell if he was hiccuping or kicking (anyone else who couldn't tell at first? I definitely had no idea!), watching the bump grow was so fun. I was lucky, too, because with a winter pregnancy I didn't have much swelling or water retention, so most of my shoes fit the entire time.
Once December came around, I got a little more antsy about some items I absolutely wanted to check off my pregnancy to-do list, namely having a baby shower and a maternity photo shoot. I got this beautiful red dress from SewTrendyAccessories on Etsy. It is a maternity dress and I couldn't be happier with how it fit and how the photos turned out. It comes in a bunch of different colors as well - I was between this stunning red and a royal blue for my little boy, but decided to go with the red so it would pop more in the photos.
These photos were taken by our incredibly talented friend Ted - you might remember him from the baby announcement shoot!
...and one of my absolute faves, taken by Anjali from Anjali Photography here in Long Island City. This one was right before my baby shower - the shoot was supposed to be an indoor shoot, but it was showing so beautifully that we went outside on the balcony to get this shot. It was freezing but so worth it!
Anyway, I'll be over here spending my pregnancy anniversary reminiscing and loving on my little boy. Much love from the 2 of us! xx
